ISO – The ISO 9000 family of standards is related to quality management systems and designed to help organizations ensure that they meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders while meeting statutory and regulatory requirements related to the product. The standards are published by ISO, the International Organization for Standardization, and available through National standards bodies. ISO 9000 deals ith the fundamentals of quality management systems, including the eight management principles on which the family of standards is based. ISO 9001 deals with the requirements that organizations wishing to meet the standard have to fulfill.
IBR – IBR is Indian Boiler Regulations, which was created in 15th September 1950 in exercise of the powers conferred by section 28 & 29 of the Indian Boilers Act. The Indian Boilers Act was formed in 1923, 23rd February to consolidate and amend the law relating to steam boilers. Indian Boiler Regulations are the standards in respect of materials, design and construction, inspection and testing of boilers and boiler components for compliance by the manufacturer’s and users of boilers in the country.
SSI – Small Scale and ancillary units (i.e. undertaking with investment in plant and machinery of less than Rs. 10 million) should seek registration with the Director of Industries of the concerned State Government. The main purpose of Registration is to maintain statistics and maintain a roll of such units for the purposes of providing incentives and support services.
